Hots Hold Weekly Press Conference

Hot Wheeler of the Week Award

Nook Logan
has been named the first recipient of the Hot Wheeler of the Week award for the 2007 season. Nook is batting a perfect 1.000 to this point of the season. Though he has enjoyed most of the season from the pinewood, his OBP has lead the team since nearly the first pitch of the season.

Injured List Keeps Growing

Batting star Hanley Ramirez and rookie Chris B. Young join Cristian Guzman, Nook Logan, and Nick Johnson on the Hot Wheelers growing list of injured players. Ramirez (hamstring) and Young (groin) are expected to rejoin the team "soon", following the conclusion of a Hot Wheels convention in Cleveland.

Update: Kevin "Krispy Kreme" Kouzmanoff left last night's game after being hit in the elbow by an errant pitch from fellow Hot Wheeler Matt Cain. Kouzmanoff's status is listed as the dreaded day-to-day, and raises the injury bar to 6, a season high for the Hot Wheelers. "It's hard to explain why Cain would plunk the Kremer like that," noted a Wheeler. "Doesn't he know that we're all on the same team?" Another Wheeler lamented, "We've need to get Kevin, his .136 batting average, and 1 RBI back into the lineup as soon as possible! With stats like that, you can rest assured that we aren't resting until he's back."

Squad Mired in Middle of Pack

The Hot Wheelers, in the uncustomary position of being mired in the middle of the standings, have reportedly invited an American Idol "contestant" to sing the National Anthem this next week in an attempt to stir up the team.
