Hot Wheelers Announce Returning Players

Following weeks of exhausting research, preparation, and interviews, the Hot Wheelers announced on Saturday one position player and one pitcher have accepted 1-year contract extensions with a guaranteed 15% salary increase.

D. Uggla (2B), S. Drew (SS) and H. Ramirez (SS) are widely believed to have been the contenders for the one position player slot. However, there have been rumors that a fourth position player, a waiver pickup from the 2006 championship season, also received consideration.

M. Cain and A. Harang are the two candidates that received the most attention from the starting rotation.

Indications are that the dual Hot Wheeler owners hotly debated the merits of each player and their spring training performances. The final selections were agreed upon only after Indian Leg Wrestling and a national poll.

H. Ramirez has been resigned to start at shortstop, and youngster Matt Cain will be returning to the starting rotation. "I'm so happy to be with the Hot Wheelers for another year," both players said in a joint statement. Ramirez added that his contract is laden with incentives, including vintage yellow track with purple connectors.
